‘Break a leg!’: Theater memes for all theater kids who miss rehearsals and getting on stage

Were you a theater kid growing up?Many adults might not want to admit it if they were, since theater kids have pretty bad press, but there's really nothing wrong with being one. There are a lot of not-so-nice stereotypes out there, and maybe that's why some might be nervous to share their liking for musical theater.Let's be real, the stereotypes, even if not very nice, might carry a little bit of truth. We've all heard the anecdote about this really annoying set of kids who just randomly started singing or reciting some lines of a play, or who couldn't talk about anything but themselves and always needed to be the center of attention. Yes, those kinds of people exist everywhere. But we can't blame theater for their bad attitude. It is a beautiful art form that carries so much sentiment, so much love, and so much work. Annoying and narcissistic people are going to be everywhere in our lives, but we can't let them ruin something beautiful that we might actually enjoy! Keep in mind, not all theater kids are like that. Many are actually shy when not on stage, and they can be just as easy and fun to be around as anyone else. Besides, it can be really funny when someone starts acting and reciting silly lines to entertain everybody else. Everyone just ends up cracking up! If it's worth anything, I was a closeted theater kid. What I mean by this is that, as a kid, I always loved acting, dancing, and singing, but I was too shy to take classes or actually get on a stage. I tried to make up for it the last few years of high school, taking every chance I got to participate in every school play that I could. I started taking dance classes pretty late in life as well, and now I take every chance that I get to sing, mostly in the shower, but you get where this is going.The point is never to be annoying or try to take all the attention, not at all (I usually hate drawing attention to myself). The point is to enjoy what makes us happy, to feel the music, to dance our worries away, and to feel free to be who we are without feeling judged.
