I can't go to work, I need to finish this game: 20 gamer memes

I can't move until I finish this game.What is the obsession with gamers wanting to finish the game as fast as they can? Isn't that taking you away from playing the game, which should be the most interesting part? I'm the furthest you are gonna get from a gamer, but I do know what I'm talking about due to my inner circle. I have heard and seen so many people playing games on their computers or PlayStation. I've even seen it on Wii's and Xboxes. But I simply don't get it. Why would you wanna finish the game instead of replaying it over and over? I know that they do replay it, but these gamers are still more obsessed with the idea of finishing it than with actually enjoying the playing time, or at least that's my view of it from an outsider's perspective. That's it's not the only thing that I don't get thou. I also don't understand the gist of it. I get that it's fun to play, but the times I try it, I feel that a lot is going on, so I can't fully concentrate on the main vision. That's why the only games that I actually like are simplistic in their animation and at a slower pace of play. My lack of knowledge should be a turning point for wanting to hear (or in this case read) my thoughts on gaming. But the truth is that I'm actually curious about this whole world that I'm not a part of. What is that thing that made you love a game? What made it your favorite? What was the first game that had that and made you a fan of playing video games? Would you admit that your fanaticism for games is actually an obsession? I'm sort of kidding with that last question, but I have to admit that it's kinda crazy how you people say that you're just going to play for a couple of hours and end up playing the whole night without getting even an hour of sleep. Is it worth it? Most probably it is.
