‘Be a traveler, not a tourist’: TikTok’s most mystical hopecore Anthony Bourdain edits that reflect on ordinary life’s beauty and esoteric qualities
Hopecore will save usThis is my favourite trend ever. I would even argue that it stopped being a trend long ago and has now become a style.I just find it so fascinating that there are people out there who want to make a positive, inspiring impact on others and dedicate some of their time to making TikToks that ultimately express hope, appreciation for life, and a kind message. It genuinely moves me, lol. These videos are based on Anthony Bourdain's character and philosophy, but there are as many hopecore edits as there are inspiring people out there. I believe the trend started as a way to bring positivity to a rather ironic, and even post-ironic, landscape (such as the internet nowadays); and at least for me, it works. These edits bring me peace and ground me. They make me remember every experience is a gift and that I need to enjoy the ride as much as I can. I should get off TikTok when I catch one because obviously, no great sensory experience can come from endless hours of scrolling, unless you consider lower-back pain a sublime adventure.
